Alcoa recruiting university graduates now
Alcoa Australia is looking to recruit 15 ambitious university graduates wanting to kickstart their careers as part of its 2022 Graduate Program.
The bauxite, alumina and aluminium producer is seeking graduates, or those students on track to complete their studies by the end of 2021, to work in the following areas: procurement; mining engineering; process control engineering, mechanical engineering; electrical engineering; chemical engineering; and geotechnical engineering.
The four-week recruitment campaign closes on Friday 9 April 2021.
Those selected for the highly sought-after three-year program could work at Alcoa’s bauxite mines and alumina refineries south of Perth, located near major centres including Mandurah, Bunbury or Kwinana, or within 16 kilometres of Perth’s CBD at the company’s Booragoon head office.
Graduates will work alongside experienced professionals, earn a competitive salary and use their degree to make a difference in the global resources company. All graduate roles are permanent as the company sees graduates as potential future leaders of the business.
Dannielle MacKenzie is a third-year Chemical Engineering graduate and credits the company’s specialised program for providing her the foundation for a long and successful career.
“Applying for Alcoa’s Graduate Program was the best thing I could have done for my career,” Ms MacKenzie said.
“Over the past two and half years, I have been challenged on many fronts which has seen me grow both personally and professionally.
“Support from my technical and production teams has allowed me to put my theoretical knowledge into practice and given me the onsite experience I could only dream about at university.
“Alcoa’s inclusive workplace culture has given me the confidence to share my thoughts and ideas on complex problems and the externally accredited courses offered are extensive compared to other graduate programs.
“Graduates, or those graduating at the end of 2021, should not hesitate to apply for these roles, Alcoa is a fantastic company to work for and is supportive of your development throughout your career.”
Alcoa has a proud history and commitment to training generations of skilled and educated employees, having trained and developed more than 2000 apprentices, trainees and graduates since 1963.
The company has also contributed economically and socially to the fabric of Western Australian society for almost 60 years. It employs some 4,250 people, many of whom live regionally in the communities where it operates. Alcoa is committed to achieving greater gender balance and embraces diversity, encouraging applications from women and people of all backgrounds.
Applications for Alcoa’s 2022 Graduate Program will be received until Friday 9 April 2021. For more information or to apply visit www.alcoa.com.au/graduateopps.
